AUSTIN, Texas — Rain is in the forecast Friday evening for Central Texas, ending a dry streak that has been going on for more than a month. The CBS Austin Weather team predicts heavy thunderstorms could bring threats of tornadoes, damaging winds, hail and flooding. Some forecast models show nearly 2.5″ of rainfall for Friday night. The CBS Austin Weather team says these storms are expected to linger into Saturday morning before winding down Sunday.
