Robert Irwin wowed viewers with a stunning Jazz routine on Dancing With the Stars’Wicked Night, but fans were left questioning the judges’ scores.
The wildlife conservationist and his pro-partner Witney Carson performed a technically difficult routine to one of Wicked‘s most popular musical numbers, “Dancing Through Life.” Their performance captured the elements of the film’s iconic scene, yet judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough, Bruno Tonioliand guest judge Jobs Men didn’t award the dance partners a single 10.
Fans shared their disappointment via Facebook in the comments section of a show post applauding Irwin and Carson’s efforts. The caption to a series of performance photos read, “Robert and Witney brought the Ozdust Ballroom to DWTS with their incredible Wicked Night Jazz.”
One fan disagreed with the scores, writing, “What do the judges have against giving Robert a 10?” A second viewer agreed, “I was expecting at least one 10.”

A third DWTS fan claimed, “He deserved a 10. Like, what does Robert have to do?” A fourth social media user believes, “Probably because he has a huge fan base already, so they figured the votes will save him because it doesn’t make sense otherwise smh.”

Robert Irwin has received his highest scores of the season thus far as Dancing With the Stars reaches the season’s midpoint. For his Wicked-themed Jazz routine, Irwin and Witney Carson received four nines.
Before this dance, the wildlife conservationist received a high score of three nines and one eight for an emotional Dedication Night performance. Irwin danced to Phil Collins‘ “You’ll Be in My Heart,” in honor of his mother, Terri Irwin.
With only nine couples left, the competition continues to grow more intense for its celebrity participants. Despite Irwin’s popularity, he and Carson are trailing Jordan Chiles and Ezra Sosaand Whitney Leavitt and Mark Ballaswho both received judges’ 10s on Wicked night.
Dancing With the Starscelebrates Halloween for its October 28 episode. The series airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and Disney+ and the next day on Hulu.
